Rangers Fans Help Set Sunglasses World Record

The Texas Rangers Fans were looking cool in their shades to celebrate the first day of summer and set the record for the most sunglasses worn after dark. Reliant Energy supplied the sunglasses at the entrance of the Ballpark.

At the end of the sixth inning of the game against the Houston Astros, all of the fans were asked to wear the sunglasses to beat the Guinness Book of World Records of the most shades worn after dark. Former President George W. Bush and Nolan Ryan were shown on the big screen wearing their shades and got the crowd fired up.

Only 424 people were needed to break the record, but 33,533 fans participated. The officials from the Guinness Book only needed to count sections 314 and 315 to beat the record. It is official, the record was broken by the Texas Rangers Fans.
