Last Sunday I took my mom to the church we were raised in, University United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. I sat gazing at the colorful stain glass window I saw as a child. Jesus's arms were open reaching out to me. His eyes were saying I love you, I care about you. Six words encircled the picture of Jesus as a promise to me.
"My peace I give unto you." No matter what direction I read the words the message was still the same. "I give my peace unto you." "Unto you I give my peace." I remember wondering what those words meant as a child. I always felt a warmth as I stared into the eyes of Jesus as if He were talking directly to me. Sandra I want to give you peace. My peace is there for you, I love you. Peace calms the storm. Peace takes away fear and replaces it with love. Peace is supernatural and comes from the Holy Spirit as you have faith in Jesus. Peace wants to be your constant companion to help you through the day. Dear Jesus give me more peace today as I encounter relationships. The Bible says if at all possible be in peace or harmony.
Jesus gave this promise to his disciples right before he went to be with the Father.
"Peace I leave with you: my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."John 14:27
Jesus promises in me you will have peace.
"I have said this to you that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Jesus promises you will find rest for your souls.
"Come to me all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and by burden light." Matthew 11:28:30
